Books for Malaysia Project

British Malaysian Society

For a number of years The British Malaysian Society has successfully promoted a Book Project which annually collects substantial numbers of English language books from donors in UK schools and, with the organisational help of the Centre for British Teachers in country, delivers them to Malaysian primary schools in rural areas in order to improve pupils’ reading, writing and speaking skills in the language.

Dr John Breakell Chairman of The British Malaysian Society had asked Premier Showfreight Ltd to help them with their “Books for Malaysia” Project. All the books collected arrived in Malaysia and nearly 3000 books were collected in total, they were sorted and sent by The Centre for British Teachers (CfBT) to an English Language Centre in Kelantan on the East Coast of Malaysia and will be put to good use to set up a Reading corner at the centre.

Premier Support SDBTT and the Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign

On 21st October 2007, Adrian Clark, Tim Ives, Jim Huggins and Paul Wilkin took part in Walk Around the World", as part of International Brain Tumour Awareness Week; a global event, organised by the International Brain Tumour Alliance. The target is for volunteers, from across the globe, to take part in sponsored walks totalling 24,901 miles, which is the circumference of the earth at the equator.
