The Beatles Story Ltd - Wax Works 2009

Premier Showfreight Ltd were appointed by The Beatles Story Ltd to transport wax works models of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon and George Harrison to India for display at a shopping mall in South Delhi. The wax works models are valued at £100,000. The display is part of Imagine Liverpool, a weeklong “cultural extravaganza” in the city promoting Liverpool as a tourist destination to visitors from India.

Project objectives

• Arrange collection from premises in Liverpool, transportation and consolidation of the models for onward movement via airfreight to New Delhi, India.
• Due to the nature of the consignment the wax works needed to be kept at a temperature below 30 degrees at all times. This meant that the cargo was shipped in the temperature controlled area of the aircraft.
• Provision of ATA Carnet due to high value and submission of additional export documentation. Arrange customs clearance and delivery to our local agents warehouse in Delhi.
• Uplift of all models from warehouse New Delhi for consolidation and return movement via airfreight to UK.
• Re-delivery of wax works to Liverpool premises.

This event was a huge success, The Managing Director, Jerry Goldman of the Beatles Story Ltd was quoted “The crowds are all over us. The excitement is unbelievable. Our aim is to encourage Indian tourists visiting London to include Liverpool in their trip”.
