Virgin Galactic 2009

Virgin Galactic is a company owned and established by Richard Branson's Virgin Group to undertake the challenge of making private space travel available to everyone and by creating the world's first commercial spaceline.

Virgin will own and operate privately built spaceships, based on the history making SpaceShipOne . These spaceships, which are currently under construction, will allow affordable private sub-orbital space travel for the first time in history.

Project objectives

• Provide on-going UK warehouse storage facilities for Virgin Galactic space models, base stands and accessories.
• Arrange transportation and on-site handling of various scale and high value space models, base stands and accessories for onward movement to private demonstrations and exhibitions in the UK and worldwide.
• Consolidation of equipment via airfreight for onward movement to various destinations worldwide.
• Provide documentation and arrange customs clearance and delivery to Virgins local premises as per Virgin Galactics schedule.
• Removal and storage of empty cases if required for duration of event.
• Return of empty cases and assistance with re-packing and labelling return shipments.
• Uplift all equipment from display areas at the conclusion of the event.
• Consolidation of return equipment via airfreight for return movement to UK or onward movement to new destination.
• At close of event arrange for models, base stand and accessories to be stored at our UK warehouse until their next demonstration and event.

In December 2009, SpaceShipTwo, VSS Enterprise, was recently unveiled by Virgin Galactic at an exclusive international event in the Mojave Desert. Premier had co-ordinated the transportation, customs clearance and on-site handling of Virgin Galactics SpaceshipTwo +White KnightTwo and Feathering Model being displayed in Los Angeles for their launch party.

Premier have since handled several of their private demonstrations and international events in Oslo, Wisconsin, Abu Dhabi, Switzerland and various demonstrations based in the UK.
